    Altitude sickness (also known as AMS) is a condition that occurs at high altitudes from 2500 metres (8200 ft) above sea level, where the body has difficulty adjusting to lower oxygen pressure and symptoms such as headaches and dizziness result. If you are travelling to a high altitude destination or are prone to altitude sickness, then it’s important to take the right precautions before you travel.     If you're heading to a high risk country, it's good to be informed about meningococcal ACWY. For a free assessment, expert advice, and access to vaccinations and anti-malarials, book an appointment online. Ideally, this should be six to eight weeks before departure, but it’s never too late to seek advice if you're leaving sooner. Please note the service is only available to those who travel abroad, and this vaccination can only be offered to those who it is suitable for, who are travelling to an area where meningitis ACWY is recommended to protect travellers.
